Senior Finance Officer

About the Role

We are currently looking for someone to join our Finance team, based in Coventry as a Senior Finance Officer on a 12-month contract. The main purpose of this job is to allocate both income and expenditure relating to Managed Accounts and Appointeeships held by the Trust. The successful candidate will be joining a leading not-for-profit organisation that provides independent living services to people with disabilities and health care needs nationwide.

Location: Coventry, CV3 3GU, near Tollbar Island (Hybrid working)

Contract: 12 months

Salary: £22,011 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week

Working Days: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm

Closing Date: Friday 19th July 2024

The Role - Your main duties will include:

  • Reviewing daily high-volume bank statements and allocating income and expenditure to the relevant accounts.
  • Liaising with Local Authorities and Penderels Satellite Offices to help identify unknown income and expenditure.
  • Producing fortnightly reports of the suspense account to distribute to local teams.
  • Answering queries from both internal and external contacts.
  • Monthly Reconciliation of the bank account.
  • Processing payments for sundry purchases
  • Supporting Finance Team with the setting up, amending, and cancellation of automated payments when needed
  • Dealing with general telephone and email enquiries.
  • Any other duties that fall within the scope and responsibility of this post.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications - We are looking for someone with the following attributes:

  • Experience of working in a finance or accounting environment.
  • Knowledge of Sage 200 (or similar)
  • Ability to input and maintain accurate data records.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (including Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Excellent telephone manner.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
  • Ability to work flexibly and meet deadlines.
  • Hold minimum GCSE Grade 'C' or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • A qualification in bookkeeping or accounting would be desirable.
