We are pleased to confirm that our new online payroll system for receiving pay documents, My View, is now up and running.
If you would to use My View, please send your name, your employer number (this will be on the top-right hand corner of your timesheet), your PA names and email addresses to myview@penderelstrust.org.uk. We will let you know once you are set up and our User Guides (further down this page) will give you step-by-step instructions on how to get started.
My View is an easy-to-use, online system that is accessed with a username and password. This means instead of waiting for payslips to arrive in the post or by email, you can log on and view payslips as soon as they become available, which will be the day before payday.
This simple and easy online system is not just for employers; PAs can also have access to an account where they can view, print and download their payslips and pay documents. This means employers will no longer have to send these to their PAs.
This new system brings many benefits to you as a payroll customer including a simpler, quicker and more responsive payroll service. If issues arise, our payroll team will still be available to support you and, as the online system reduces staff workload, our response times will greatly improve.
Q. Is My View an app?
A. No, My View is a website that you can access from a desktop computer, mobile phone or tablet. You do not have to download anything.
Q. How do I get on the website?
Click the red text below to go to the My View website. You can acess My View by clicking the red button on the right-hand side of this page that says 'Visit My View'.
Q: What is my username?
A. Your username is your payroll number with ‘ER’ in front of it. You can find your employer number in the top right-hand corner of your timesheet where it says ‘Comp’.
Q: I have forgotten my password, what do I do?
A. Please click the ‘Forgotten your password?’ button on the My View login page and follow the instructions to reset your account with a new password.
Q: I have clicked ‘Forgotten your password?’ but haven’t received the reset email, what do I do?
Please make sure the email account you are using is the one you signed up with. Please check your junk folder. If you still haven’t received it, email us at myview@penderelstrust.org.uk for help.
Q. I/you have reset my password so why can’t I log in?
A. If you are unable to login with reset account details, please clear your saved passwords. Your phone could be automatically overriding the new password with an old out-of-date one. Q: What is Multi-Factor Authentication?
A: We have introduced an extra layer of security to My View as recommended by finance and IT experts. Whilst the system is very safe, all companies and websites are open to threat from clever criminals. Multi Factor Authentication (MFA for short) provides another layer of protection against an attack. The MFA feature of My View does require you to download an authenticator app. The instructions to do this and how to use MFA are in the factsheet which you can view and download from the bottom of this page.
Q. Why does My View say my employees are on zero-hour contracts when they aren’t?
A. Everyone on the system is set to a zero-hour contract as we cannot know and maintain the working patterns of thousands of employees. Please don’t worry, this is set the same for all employer accounts and will not affect your employees pay/payslips.
Q. Why is my employee’s payment method set as cheque when I pay using BACS?
A. This is just a system workaround and will not actually affect how your employees are paid. It has to be set as a cheque payment method rather than BACs so our system doesn’t attempt to pay your PA when we do not hold your direct payment funds.
Q. Once I have set my password, do I have to follow this process every month?
A. No. You only need to set your password the first time you use My View. After that, you can continue to use the same login details every month (unless you forget and need to reset your password).
Q. When will my new employee have My View access?
A. New employees will be automatically signed up to My View once they are fully set up in payroll. If a new starter form, including an email address, has been sent in for the employee, they will appear on your account with their employee number listed the day after they are setup. They will then be able to login with that employee number and set their password using the instructions in our guide.
Q. Do I submit timesheets via My View?
No, timesheets should be submitted in the same way as normal. Currently My View is only for accessing employees’ payslips and other pay documents.
Q. Why is my payslip not showing on My View?
If your payslip is not showing, please contact us on myview@penderelstrust.org.uk so we can look into it. Please note, if you were paid via a fast payment then your payslip may not be available on My View straight away.
Q. Do I need to be set up on My View to ensure my employees are paid?
My View is only for viewing pay documents. If you have a managed account where we hold funds on your behalf, as long as timesheets were submitted on time then your PAs will be paid.
Q. Why can’t I see the total gross pay year to date on my payslip?
A. If you are an Essex customer, you may not be able to see your total gross pay year to date. Unfortunately, this probably won’t be available this year but the P60s you receive in April at the end of the tax year will state the correct amount.
Q. Where is the summary sheet that I used to get with payslips?
A. The summary sheet that used to be provided detailing everything paid to your employees is not currently available on My View. We are looking into ways of making this accessible to you on My View in the future but at present, you can maintain your records by saving and printing payslips from the online system. We have been advised it is acceptable to provide copies of the payslips to local authority for audit purposes.
Q. My employee has left, what will happen to their account?
Employees can access their My View account for a year after leaving your employment, this ensures they have sufficient time to view their payslips and P45. P45s are also always posted to your PAs.
Q. Why is an employee who no longer works for me still showing on my account?
A. If your employee has not been set a leaver on our system, they will still show up on your My View account. Please contact us on myview@penderelstrust.org.uk and ask for them to be removed. If you have not already submitted a leavers form, please provide the date that they stopped working for you so we can set them as a leaver.
Q. Why can’t I see my employee’s final payslip?
A. Currently, as soon as your PA has been set as a leaver on the system you will no longer be able to see their pay information. This means that the final payslip isn’t available via My View. You will need to contact us on payroll@penderelstrust.org.uk to request the final payslip. Employees can access their My View account for a year after leaving your employment.
Q. Why do I keep getting logged out of my account when I try to download payslips?
A. If you are using an iPhone, you will get logged out after downloading a payslip and clicking back to return to the previous page. To continue saving payslips on your iPhone, you will need to download Google Chrome from the App Store and open My View on this browser and not the default Safari browser. Alternatively, you can view the payslips on your phone and download/save them on a computer.
