About the Employer

I am a 40 year old lady with osteoporosis and arthritis, and I am a permanent wheelchair user. I am looking for a female PA who can support me with medication, personal care and showering, personal grooming, cooking and maintaining my home, and every day tasks to promote an independent lifestyle as I have limited use of my hands due to restricted reach, movement and dexterity. I am happy for two PA's to share the job role as I need support 4 times a day, 7 days a week. The daily times would be approximately 9.15 am for 45 minutes to an hour, 1 pm for 45 minutes to an hour, 6.30 pm for 45 minutes to an hour and 9 pm for 15 minutes. Times can be discussed as there is some flexibility. A driver/car owner is essential as I may need occasional support to get to and from hospital appointments.

About the Role

Duties and Responsibilities

• Support and/or prompt with personal care. This may include toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed.
• Support and/or prompt with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks.
• Support and/or prompt the individual to take medication.
• Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
• Support and/or prompt to attend appointments as necessary, e.g. hospital/doctors.
• Promote and encourage friendships and independence.
• Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship.
• Support with managing paperwork & correspondence.

Only candidates aged 18 or over should apply for this position as you will be required to administer medication.

You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.

• Flexibility would be an advantage as the hours may be variable.

Required Training

Successful candidates are required to undertake any training that is considered necessary and appropriate to the role.
