About the employer I am the employer and mother to my young daughter who has been offered a direct payment to enable her to access the community for activities with a PA. My daughter has a range of needs related to her disabilities, she is deaf, blind, PRP and is nonverbal however her speech is slowly improving with some words and using basic sign language. My daughter requires support with personal care and wears nappies that may require changes if out and about. She is a loud, happy, bubbly five-year-old with a great sense of humour. She enjoys the company of adults and 1-1 attention. She enjoys being on her own and equally will happily engage with other children for short periods or when in the mood. My daughter is very caring and enjoys taking on a nurturing, motherly role, especially when playing with her dolls. She enjoys the outdoors, going to parks and the beach however does not manage tin situations or places when they are busy or noisy, so some consideration must be taken when planning an activity. We are seeking a PA to assist and support my daughter in accessing activities outside of the home and encourage her to become a little more independent, She is very isolated and spends most of her time with me, so this would offer her the opportunity to extend her social support network, allowing her time away from me and her home, whilst also offering me a break from my caring role. Summary of duties TASKS REQUIRED TO BE COMPLETED OR SUPPORTED BY THE PA The successful personal assistant will be required to support my daughter in accessing the community, engaging in new activities and experiences wherever possible.
