About the Employer

2 Female Personal Assistants are required to support a young lady who has Muscular dystrophy. She is a wheelchair user and lives independently.

Summary of Duties

The role will require you to support with all personal care tasks; including washing, showering and toileting. You will also be required to use a hoist for all transfers and will also need to use a nippy ventilator and cough assist (training will be provided).

You will be required to prepare meals and on occasion, may need to support with feeding too. In addition, you will carry out some domestic tasks, such as helping to keep the bedroom and bathroom clean and tidy and occasionally do some washing. Furthermore, you will also be required to support with social inclusion and to take the client out and about into the community. This may include going to the cinema, or to a pub. On occasion, this may also include going away on holiday.

The Person They Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will be someone who has experience in a similar field of work, but this is not essential as training will be provided on the job.

You will require a full clean driving licence and must be willing to use the employers own car for trips out.

The Times Required

The role is fixed term until the 27th March 2019 to cover a carer on maternity leave. The role is for an average of 31 hours per week to work on a two week rota. Week 1 will be a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 10am-5pm and then a Thursday waking night 10pm- 7am. Week 2 will then be Monday, Tuesday waking night 10pm-7am and then Thursday and Friday daytime 10am-5pm.
