A support worker is required for a lady living in Louth.
You will therefore be required to support her in her own home and within the community for all practical and social care needs. This will include supporting her to make phone calls, pay and understand bills and support with financial management. You will also support her to access and participate with her in activities such as Swimming, , go karting, climbing church’s, visiting the pub, dog agility/training and any general social activities.
The ideal candidate will know how to work in a person centred approach; will be non-judgemental, honest, good at listening, and know how to support with situations that may arise due to anxiety
You will also need to respect privacy and have a clear understanding of confidentiality.
Experience in a similar role is an advantage but is not necessary.
You will be required to cover bank holidays and holiday periods for the other carer.
You will be required to have access to your own vehicle and have business use insurance for taking the lady out and about.
You must be ok with dogs and be willing and able to take the dog in your car when supporting the lady
A DBS may be required.
The position is for up to a total of 30 hours per week, but to be split between 2 support workers.
Initially hours may be less, with the intention of working up to these hours, so that the lady can get to know you.
Exact days, times and hours are to be discussed at interview.
Support is required predominantly during the daytime but also some evenings and the hours may change on occasion to meet social and health needs and so you will need to be flexible
