Job Reference: WAK1440389AW1 Expires: 23rd July 2018
I am looking to recruit a Personal Assistant to support my 37 year old daughter who has Asperger’s Syndrome. Although she is quite independent she can sometimes lack social awareness and can find certain social situations difficult to manage.
She has a very gentle personality and doesn’t like to be involved in/witness any kind of conflict as she is very sensitive.
She volunteers regularly at different organisations and is eager to become more independent and take on more responsibility.
She enjoys walking and watching quiz shows however, her favourite hobby is watching horse racing – something I think she would love to explore further with the support of a Personal Assistant. She also has an avid interest in music and likes to attend the theatre.
The main purpose of the role is to support my daughter socially. She is keen to be out in the community accessing different services and activities, and would benefit from the encouragement and guidance of a Personal Assistant.
She would like to be able to travel further afield and attend places she has never been before, as her enthusiasm for independence grows.
The right candidate will be bubbly, outgoing and have a good sense of humour. You will also have a youthful outlook and be willing to build a strong relationship with my daughter.
Knowledge of the Autistic Spectrum would be advantageous.
Car owner and full valid driving license essential (business insurance required). You will be required to use your car to take my daughter to new and existing activities.
Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).
Mondays and Fridays, daytime (times to be discussed at interview)
