An nine year old boy with severe learning difficulties who needs complete help with all tasks relating to personal care and some social time out and about. He is very mobile although he uses a wheelchair for distance. He has an Ipad for communication and enjoys walking and watching cars.
Personal care including dressing, bathing and nappy changing as well as feeding. In the morning to get him up and ready for school. In the afternoon to see him off the school bus, help keep him stimulated until tea time, feed him and get him ready for bed. At the weekends to take him out and about to allow him time for himself on activities he enjoys such as swimming, walking, bowling and watching cars.
Someone enthusiastic who will embrace the challenge and rewards of looking after a child with complex needs. His behaviour can be challenging so you need to have an understanding of distraction techniques and an understanding of what it is like to have sensory processing disorder.
Monday to Friday for personal care: 6.30-8.00am 4.30-7.00pm and 4 hours on a Saturday or Sunday for social inclusion activities.
