I am registered blind and have a guide dog which will need to go with me when you support me so with this in mind you must be willing to work with my guide dog and allow her in your vehicle. I live independently in my own home with my husband.
To provide essential cover during periods of annual leave and sick leave.
To provide a service of communication, social and escorted assistance to enable a severely sighted impaired woman to have greater independence and quality of life.
To escort the employer to activities outside the home according to the employer’s choice.
To support with making arrangements for appointments, visits and other activities as directed by the employer.
To support with college attendance and to help with carrying and transporting of bags to the car. To undertake any other college duties as appropriate.

Knowledge of social care work and understanding of the support required for a visually impaired person.
To have an easy going personality.
Must own a car and have a full driving licence with car able to transport employer and guide dog and feel confident driving on motorways and main roads.
Be honest, reliable and trustworthy.
Able to work flexibly and follow instructions.
Good sense of humour.
You will also need to respect privacy and have an understanding of confidentiality in all areas of your work.
Times required: flexible - during times of annual leave and sick leave, however there is a possibility you would be asked to cover Monday 9am - 4pm as I attend college on this day.
Days required: as above and with flexibility.
