88-year old lady with Alzheimer’s requires a part time PA to assist in her achieving day-to-day independence. A lovely and frail lady, she needs someone who will treat her with understanding, respect and dignity.
Help the client to wash and dress themselves.
Preparation of evening meals.
Prompting to take medication.
Trips out to hairdressers, appointments, shopping, etc. (own car necessary)
General domestic cleaning duties (nothing heavy)
The client can still walk some distance, but requires handling sometimes.
The client is quiet and introverted, and values her own space and privacy. She does not connect well with “strangers” initially and has real difficult understanding dialects and accents, therefore any applicant must have very clear spoken English
All applications with experience would be considered, however, we feel this position may suit a local lady in her 60s or 70s who has recently retired and looking to keep active.
Shifts will be worked out between the PAs. There is a late-morning shift of 1 hour (any time between 11am and 2pm) and an evening shift of 1 hour (any time between 5pm and 8pm).
Late morning call – 1 hour between 11am and 2pm.
Evening call – 1 hour between 5pm and 8pm.
It would be possible to have one PA working 10 shifts Monday-Friday and one PA working 4 shifts at weekends, or any jobs share as appropriate. The occasional missed shift is not an issue at this moment in time but will become so in later life.
