I am a middle-aged woman with MS. I live with my daughter and require support with all aspects of everyday life. I previously enjoyed painting and decorating, which due to my current health I am unable to do myself. I like interior design programmes and my home to look nice.
Tasks will include but are not restricted to:
Assist with personal care, including daily washes, showering and dressing/undressing.
Assist me with taking prescribed medication.
Prepare daily meals and prompt me to eat.
Make hot drinks throughout the day and encourage me to drink regularly.
Domestic duties, including light cleaning and laundry.
Support me on social outings.
Support me with post and paperwork, including completing your own timesheet.
You must be confident, friendly and approachable, and happy to work with me and my daughter to meet my needs.
Understand the importance of building a strong yet professional relationship with me and my daughter and appreciate that trust takes time to develop.
Respect my privacy at all times and treat my home and belongings with respect.
Be hardworking, reliable and conscientious. You must be flexible within your role and the tasks you complete, as required by the fluctuating nature of my condition.
Reliability is crucial to me so you must understand the importance of being punctual, and notifying me if you are going to be late for any reason.
Be willing to work additional hours to cover annual leave and sickness if required. Be flexible for changing shifts with my current
PA who will work your shifts in return.
A car driver/owner is essential, as is a full driving license, as you will be required to use it in the course of your duties and for taking me on social outings. You will require business cover on your insurance and will need to provide evidence of this. Mileage rates will be discussed at interview.
I do smoke so you must be comfortable to work in a smoking environment.
I have a cat so you must be comfortable to work around her.
You will be required to have a DBS check for the role
The earliest you will generally be expected to start is 12:30pm and the latest finish will be 10.00pm. The hours will be flexible to meet my needs and be discussed further at interview. 16 hours will be required Monday – Sunday, over a minimum of 3 days per week.
