This post is to support a very sociable young man who has autism. He really enjoys playing on his X-Box, listening to music, swimming, enjoys going to the cinema and loves animated films. He has a good sense of humour and a caring and kind personality.
Due to his autism he does likes routine and loud noises or crowds have a tendency of making anxious.
You will be providing assistance to access different social settings in the community. This will include taking him to the cinema, the zoo or the gym.
You will be proactive at risk assessing situations that might make him anxious and providing solutions to better the situation.
You will be providing support and supervision when handling money, along with completing your own timesheet and mileage/ expense forms. Mileage will be paid.
The ideal person will have a good sense of humour, lots of energy and enthusiasm, is patient, trustworthy and has an empathic attitude towards any support.
A driving license, full use of a vehicle and business insurance are essential for the role..
Experience of autism is preferred but not essential.
DBS check required – funded by employer.
