Aim: To support an elderly lady in her own home, I require a reliable person to offer me support and motivation and to encourage me to promote my interests. I would enjoy the company of a person who listens to my wishes and has the skills to enable me to live an independent life.

PENDERELS TRUST IS A SUPPORT SERVICE FOR INDIVIDUALS LIVING INDEPENDENTLY IN THE COMMUNITY AND WILL NOT BE THE EMPLOYER. YOU ARE EMPLOYED BY THE INDIVIDUAL CONCERNED.
This is a support role that requires motivational skills and encouragement to enable me to interact socially and partake in activities.
Maintain diary log of activities.
Resources to support activities will be provided including use of an IPad access to books etc.
Support with continence pads and prompt with washing/bathing/dental care.
Dressing – assisting to choose the clothes I would like to wear.
Take part in putting on my make up.
Prepare Breakfast and provision of nutritional meals as and when required.
Sit with me while I eat breakfast on days I will be attending day centre.
Prompting with food and drink.
Housekeeping duties as directed and maintain a good standard of hygiene.
Support with laundry and ironing.
Complete and maintain accurate timesheets.
To be flexible with hours worked if needed (discussed and agreed in advance.
Health and safety:
You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You must record all details in an accident book.
You have a duty to report defects and or hazards, which give rise to an accident.
As my personal assistant, you will be directed and accountable to me and my family in all aspects of your work. You should always ask what my needs are and listen to my directions and requests.
Experience of working with individuals with Dementia is preferred, but not essential as training will be provided as part of the induction
DBS check if required- cost met by local authority.
Ensure needs are met through planning and reviewing.
To be able to motivate and encourage, be pro-active in finding new home based interests and activities.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
To understand the principles of empowerment and the ability to support in exercising choice and control.
You will need to respect my privacy and have an understanding of confidentiality in all areas of your work.
Ability to communicate with people at all levels.
Ability to work unsupervised and with their own initiative.
Experience of delivering personal care.
Knowledge of the needs of vulnerable people.
Good listening skills, Good sense of humour.

Saturday - Alternating sitting service of 4 hours
