I am a 49 year old profoundly deaf man who is severely disabled due to Multiple Sclerosis. I am a BSL user and this is my only form of communication.
I live with my wife and son and we have a small dog.
To work double handed with another carer to provide all aspects of personal care (toileting, showering, dressing etc) each morning. To do this using a ceiling track hoist will be needed for all transfers – training can be given.
Extra support may be needed during days or evenings, when my wife is out, and this will be as and when required.
A carer who should be hardworking, extremely reliable, honest, patient and must be committed to the role.
You will be fully inducted in to this role and ongoing training will be given.
You preferably will be a BSL user or willing to undertake training in deaf awareness and sign language, which will be paid for by the employer.
For any extra hours a car driver would be an advantage.
A DBS check will be required for this position.
8.30am to 10.00am on Saturday and 10.00am to 11.30am on Sunday every week. Any extra hours will be as and when required.
