To befriend and support a young deaf male.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Support with possible challenges faced by the individual in managing adaptations in a hearing world.
To be able to communicate and converse both verbal and using British Sign Language.
Support to access to information and participate in social activities such as, playing pool, games via social media, cinema.
To support with self- development through communication and social interactions.
To be supportive in maximising the individuals independence.
A conscientious and dedicated approach to personalised care.
A willingness to travel to support the delivery of the individuals needs.
Ensure all needs are met through planning and discussion with employer.
To ensure the safety of the individual at all times.
To undertake flexible working arrangements in accordance with identified requirements.
Seeking an experienced support worker who can communicate with British Sign Language at BSL level 1 or above.
Experience in Deaf awareness and promoting independence.
A commitment to providing support which acknowledges privacy, dignity, respect and independence at all times.
Commitment to anti-oppressive and non-discriminatory practice.
To maintain confidentiality in all aspects of duties.
