There are 2 posts (days and nights) to support me, a male with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy to live as independently as possible. I have an interest in photography and like getting out to take photographs, I also like to take my dogs on long walks in the countryside. I have a degree in Applied Physics and like science, technology and computing. I also spend a lot of time on my computer, especially during the colder months and like peace and quiet while doing this.
To provide personal care and other tasks.
To ensure I am safe and comfortable.
To support me while out in an evening and ensure my medical equipment is working properly.
To do other general tasks that I cannot accomplish myself such as cleaning.
To go on walks.
To drive me wherever I wish to go.
To administer medication and help with feeding.
To be reasonably comfortable using technology i.e. be able to switch on my camera and swap batteries while out.
You must have a valid UK driver’s license and be willing to drive my adapted vehicle.
You should be able to accompany me on walks.
You should be honest, hard working and a quick learner.
You should be respectful of my family and friends as well as my three dogs and cat.
You will be provided with ventilator training as well as moving and handling and medication administration should you require it.
You should be able to be flexible on occasion and work longer hours for example to accompany me on holiday for several days.
You should have care experience
Days: Saturdays and Sundays 9 am to 5 pm
Nights: 3 or 4 nights per week to be agreed 8 pm to 8 am
