The client is an adult female in her forties with learning disabilities, OCD and deafness. The primary carer is her elderly mother.
Support, stimulate and motivate the client in her day to day life, during contracted hours.
Supervision, involvement and engagement with the client using indoor and outdoor activities to ensure her well-being and safety.
Assist in domestic duties to help the primary carer to maintain / keep the home clean or provide meals especially during periods when the primary carer needs a little extra help or is struggling with ill health.
Assist the primary carer to ensure medication is given as prescribed.
Provide support to attend medical appointments as required.
Assist in food shopping and errands as required.
Provide respite care for the primary carer as required.
An empathetic person who has the ability to handle complex behavioural needs, as well as able to stimulate and motivate the client to lead a fulfilling life. A person who has a particular empathy for the disabled and wants to make a real positive difference to their quality of life.
The ability to support and work closely with the elderly primary carer.
Under the Equality Act 2010 (Schedule 9 Part 1 Section 3) this post has an Occupational Requirement to be a Christian. The successful applicant will be committed to the ethos, aims and objectives of Prospects and will be able to demonstrate clear evidence of Christian commitment.
Six hours shifts per day as required during Monday to Sunday.
