I am a woman with a physical disability and mental ill health.
I require support with my personal care and daily living tasks to enable me to maintain my independence. I live with my assistance dog, and I also have a cat.
I enjoy trips out, crafts, nature and healing therapies. I am open- minded and have a good sense of humour. I am looking for a person with similar interests and outlook to support me to enjoy a good quality of life. Besides my disability I have an allergy to perfumes and body and room sprays.
I require a personal assistant to support me with my daily living and my personal care needs, including hair washing, showering, toileting and help to adjust my clothing as and when required due to my condition fluctuating. I also need help preparing drinks and meals, washing pots, laundry tasks, shopping and any other light general household tasks.
My personal assistant will also be required to accompany me to GP appointments and hospital appointments and on occasions deliver or collect my prescriptions. They will also need to administer medication. In addition to enabling me to enjoy a good quality of life my personal assistant will support me to take trips out as well as enjoying crafts, nature and conversation.
The person I am looking for will be trustworthy, reliable, friendly, have a good sense of humour, a flexible approach and a patient and calm persona.
NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care / experience of working in care
Understanding and knowledge of Mental Health
Moving and handling experience
Knowledge of using a hoist
Car owner and driver with full driving license essential (mileage allowance met by employer)
Have similar interests as employer
A DBS check will be provided.
