Support is required for a young lady living in Lincoln who has quadriplegic cerebral palsy. She is a wheelchair user and lives independently.
There are 4 cats at the property.
A personal assistant is required to support with all personal care, including washing, showering and assisting to the toilet. You will also need to help with all domestic tasks, including cleaning, washing, and meal preparation and shopping. You will also need to assist with typing up/scribing of university work and reading and support with exercises and some physiotherapy (any training required for this will be provided). You will need to be able and willing to push a manual wheelchair if required and to help with transfers. You will also need to assist with ensuring medication is taken and support with attending hospital appointments when required. You will also support with social inclusion to assist with accessing the community, which will include trips out, including weekends away and holidays.
The ideal candidate will be someone who is friendly, patient and supportive. You should have a genuine interest in the provision of high quality care and should possess the motivation to develop trust and understanding within the role. You should be hardworking, reliable, honest with a sense of humour and be committed to providing the best care.
You will require a full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle. You must also be willing to use the employers own car for trips out and taking them to university. Due to restrictions on the car insurance you must therefore be 21 years old or over and have passed your driving license more than 3 months ago.
Every Friday approx. 9am-9pm but can be discussed at interview.
