Female Personal Assistant

Location: Leamington Spa Area, Midlands Rate of Pay: £10.25 per hour gross

Hours per Week: 16 hours per week to be shared between 2 or more PAs. See times required below as there is also an on-call element to this role

About the Employer

Purpose: To provide support to an elderly lady who wishes to continue to live independently at home, she a very friendly, kind, laid back lady living with dementia who at times can become anxious. You role will include support/prompting with day to activities, general light housework, meal preparation along with companionship and reassurance. You will be very patient and understanding as the individual suffers from short term memory loss.   

Summary of Duties

  • Prompt with personal care, including bathing, hair and oral care.
  • Prompt with dressing and choosing an outfit.
  • Support with toileting as and when needed.
  • Administer medication.
  • Prepare meals and drinks.
  • Light domestic duties to include laundry
  • Monitor general health and facilitate medical assistance is sought if required.
  • Support with medical/health needs such as calling for doctor/arrange appointments or support to get help from other professionals as needed if family are not available to do this.
  • Help stimulate and facilitate communication through conversation.
  • Encourage stimulating brain activities such as puzzles, jigsaws, dot to dot.
  • Support to get ready for day centre. Making sure handbag has all items required for the day and ensures that the individual gets onto the transport safely.


Health and Safety

  • Maintain safe working practices including manual handling and discuss with employer should the need arise for training/refresher course in order to perform role safely.
  • You will have a responsibility, as our employee, to report any incidents or accidents to us immediately. You must record all details in an accident book.
  • You will also have a duty to report any defects and/or hazards which may give rise to an accident, to us directly.

  • Have a good command of English and be able to communicate effectively.
  • Have the flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of this role and perform any tasks reasonably requested.

  • Work with a manner which maintains dignity, and which protects your employer’s privacy.

The Times Required

Times required:

  • 8:45 am to 9:45 am
  • 4:30 pm to 5:00 pm
  • 9:00 pm to 9:30 pm
  • 2 leftover hours to be discussed

Days required: Monday to Sunday.


You will not be working 7 days a week as the hours of work will be split between 2 or more PAs.


Additional hours

There may be additional hours on offer to support with social occasions when daughter is not available to do so. These hours will also be paid at £10.25 per hour.


ON-CALL – There may also be times when you will be asked to provide an on-call system due to the daughter being out of the country which will be paid at £25.00 each day it is required plus the normal hourly rate of £10.25 per hour for any additional hours support given.
