A Personal Assistant is required, to help support a teenage girl living in Louth (off Monks Dyke Road), who has genetic neuropathy causing muscle wastage and limited mobility. You will be employer by her father.
You will be required to support the young girl with her personal care.
This will include showering, dressing, changing her pad and using a hoist. This will be required every Tuesday at approximately 8pm for 1.5 hours.
There will also be an extra two days available during the school holidays (Wednesday and Thursday) for 1.5 hours each day.
You will also be required to support the young girl to access the community and promote her social inclusion. This could include going for coffee, going to the cinema, clothes shopping and going to the theatre. This is likely to be worked in a 3 hour block, twice every 4 weeks, or could be a 6 hour block, once every 4 weeks (between Mon-Sun). This will be discussed in more detail at interview.
There will also be the opportunity to pick up hours during the school holidays for a Wednesday and Thursday evening, to support with a shower and personal care. This will be 3 hours a week.
The ideal candidate will be calm, patient and have a good sense of humour. Knowledge and experience of working in a similar field will be an advantage but not essential.
