A Personal Assistant is required to support a gentleman living in Louth.
The gentleman has behavioural issues and can display challenging behaviour at times. Therefore the right candidate will need to be firm but sensitive, to prevent anxiety.
Due to the gentleman’s anxiety, he has a tendency to call his carers repetitively and so your role will be to distract him through a variety of activities. This may include, going to the pub and playing darts, going for a walk, playing board games or watching TV/ DVD.
Generally you will be required to encourage him to take up various, differing activities.
You will also be required to support the gentleman with toileting.
Ideally you will have an NVQ in Health and social care or have relevant experience in this field.
You must hold a full, clean driving license.
You must be firm but sensitive.
The ideal candidate will be flexible with their working days as on occasion they may be asked to swop shifts.
2 hours on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday (approximately 17.30-19.30). You may on occasion be asked to swop shifts with other workers though and this could be across Monday- Sunday.
You may be required to work Bank Holidays and may be required to cover the other carer’s holiday when requested.
