I am looking to recruit a Personal Assistant to support my wife with day to day activities. She suffers with epilepsy and right sided weakness as a result of a bleed on her brain a couple of years ago. She also has trouble with communication and processing information.
My wife is a very happy and cheerful person who would like to retain her independence. She enjoys social outings and likes to go shopping.
The main purpose of the role is to provide support and guidance that enables my wife to carry out tasks herself and remain as independent as possible.
The right candidate will be required to assist with the following:
Cooking and preparation of meals
Support and guidance with cleaning
Prompting with medication
Support to access the local community and increase her social circle
Possibly some personal care, which may include bathing
There may be other duties required as with any position, but these will be discussed first.
I am looking for a candidate who possesses the following qualities:
a bubbly and outgoing personality
reliable and punctual
patient and empathetic
willing to learn
Having experience or knowledge of epilepsy and how to deal with the condition would be preferred but training can be provided.
We are dog owners and require any candidate considering the post to be pet friendly.
Car owner and full valid driving license essential (business insurance required).
This is a smoking household
Afternoons from 12pm, up to 2 hours per day (4 days per week – actual days to be discussed at interview as they are negotiable)
