Support is required for a gentleman in the Bracebridge Heath area, to enable him to continue to live independently at home. You will work alone with him in his home, occasionally with his wife present to help.
Compassion, good communication skills and a calm and caring manner are essential.
We are looking for 2 people to join our team, one to cover the regular hours available and another to cover holidays and sickness on a casual basis.
Duties to include:
Providing personal care and support with a variety of changing care needs.
Assisting the client with getting up in the morning and washing in his bed.
Assisting the client with toilet management (he uses a commode, needs suppositories)
Assisting the client with his medication, dispensing it according to the medicine plan and blister packs
Preparing food and drink for the client, specifically breakfast and lunch
Using manual handling equipment safely and correctly - training will be provided – (e.g. Sara Stedy)
Maintaining good communication and develop effective working relationships with the client
Assisting the client to manage his personal affairs (opening mail, short trips to the postbox etc)
Maintaining records in respect of care and medication support given and tasks undertaken
The person I am looking for should be:
Caring and compassionate towards people in need of care and support
Excellent time keeper and reliable
Good hygiene practice, including personal hygiene, and a smart appearance
Good stamina and a level of fitness to meet the physical demands of the job
Experience and Skills:
Ability to listen, communicate clearly
Ability to give care and support
Good organisational skills
Ability to use own initiative and work alone
NVQ/QCF Level 2 or equivalent
Previous experience as a care worker
Flexible approach to working
To have own transport
