About the Employer

About the employer I am the employer and mother to my son who has a diagnosis of ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder) ADHD and learning difficulties. As such he has been offered direct payments to enable him some 2-1 support, to assist him accessing social outings and friendship. He resides at home with his dad, sibling and I. He is able to manage his personal care himself however at times may require some support. He will need someone who will be able to always supervise him and provide him with the attention and stimulation he requires. My son is very sociable and enjoys attention from adults. He can at times become over excited with other children and shout out if he becomes frustrated. He is very vulnerable and unable to identify risks to himself (example: road safety). He enjoys football, bowling, going to parks, the beach, but also enjoys arts and crafts, cutting and sticking. He loves going to football matches, music concerts and listening to music. He enjoys going for drives out in the car and going for meals I am seeking 2 PA’s who will be able to support him in the community. This will also allow him time away from home and his sibling and parents, which will promote his independence and give us a break from our caring role. I am seeking 2 PA’s who will work closely with me to build a trusting relationship and understanding of my son’s needs. This will help him build his confidence and enjoy new experiences as well as extending his support network. The PA’s will be required to support my son providing him friendship, support and supervision in his chosen activities. The successful personal assistants will be required to support my son in accessing the community, engaging in new activities and experiences wherever possible. They should be outgoing, friendly, patient, enthusiastic and energetic, which will support in developing his social skills and help build his independence and confidence.
